Sepky / Price format

CSV

Fix European price formats in a CSV

A comma used as the decimal mark, or a thousands dot, breaks a price import. Sepky reads cells such as $249,99 and €1.250,00 and returns ordinary decimal numbers.

How this file is cleaned

  1. Set price as a number. That is the whole rule for this file.
  2. Send the CSV. Cost is matched to price.
  3. Import the numbers. 249.99 is what comes back, with the symbol and the comma gone.

Questions

  • Do I change the file before sending it? You mark the destination column as a number. The currency text is the supplier's problem.
  • Which columns come back? The cleaned file uses price.
